A daunting task in Powell

A daunting task in Powell by Adrian Curry

I turned in also to the matchup between sheridan and Olentangy liberty. Sheridan comes in red-hot having only loss one game all year and clinched another mvl title last week and are ranked #1 in the state while Olentangy liberty comes off a win versus bitter rival Olentangy orange and has played one of the toughest schedules in the area that includes Hoban, Dublin Coffman, watterson, Hartley and tri-valley. The game early on was dominated by Sheridan as they jumped out to an early 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter at 18-8 thanks to jasmine Stinson and bailey beckstead. The domination continued as liberty wasn’t able to get consistent offense and Sheridan was scoring from everywhere and contributions from everybody. The generals led 31-15 at the half. The 3rd quarter saw liberty make a comeback thanks to going inside where Jordan rich was able to make shots and Caitlin splain started to heat up

From the perimeter as they were able to cut the lead to 36-27 at the end of the 3rd quarter. Liberty had all the momentum as the 4th quarter started as they continued their hot play and were able to get offensive rebounds and turn them into 2nd-chance points. Liberty was able to get within 2 and trail 44-42 and had a chance to pull off the upset. As championship teams do they respond and Sheridan did as well. They were are to get a key three pointer from jasmine Stinson which fueled a 16-9 run to close the game out and avoid the upset bid. The generals beat liberty 60-51 in a highly competitive game. With the win, Sheridan improves to 20-1 and their 6th straight 20-win season while Olentangy liberty drops to 11-10 on the season. Jasmine Stinson led all scorers with 24 points and 5 rebounds.
