Battle on Hamilton road

Battle on Hamilton Rd

In one of the best nights of the season with great games all over the place my travels took me over to Gahanna to catch Watterson take on Gahanna. This game had major seeding implications as the state tourney draw is this coming Sunday and these teams are jockeying for position. The game started out slow as both teams were feeling each other out. Gahanna got up early 5-1 but then Watterson seized control of the game early and grabbed a 2-point lead at the end of 1. The 2nd quarter continued the momentum led by Danielle Grim and Watterson stretched the lead to 7 early in the 2nd quarter. Gahanna fought back behind Laila Marshall and Clarke Jackson and at the half had a 21-20 lead. The 3rd quarter was tight as Gahanna led by a small margin but was able to make enough plays behind their young guards. Watterson has multiple opportunities but couldn’t cash in and struggled to shoot it from the field. The lions were able to stretch the lead to 37-32 at the of the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter was where watterson tried to climb back in the game but gahanna had all of the answers to respond the watterson’s rally. They were able to seal the game from the line and won 50-41. With the win Gahanna improves to 9-4 while Watterson drops to 8-4 with the loss
